EDAN ‘ECHO PARTY’ SMACKS MY DOORMAT

Got sent my hand-stamped Edan ‘Echo party’ vinyl today, direct from Lewis Recordings. I received the CD copy through the post a few weeks ago, and was waiting patiently for the vinyl to arrive. Any delay was understandable, Edan has hand stamped each cover individually, making 1000 in total. Work not cut out for those with a short attention span…

Let’s go and play on bikes…

The thing I liked about this delivery (on top of the music and the customisation) – and something that the digital machine that killed analogue and physical release has failed to fully cull – is that it was like a proper parcel from a proper label. I got a package full of fliers, a free ‘Best of Lewis Recordings CD’, stickers and a poster. Wichita do this to, and I’m sure there’s a few others out there doing the same. It’s like what it used to be like to order something from a cool label; so thanks Lewis Recordings, and please keep it up. Oh and thanks for signing Edan, he rinses it.

I caught Edan and Ricky Powell’s touring ‘cultural event’ last Sunday at Metropolis in Bristol. there are a couple of dates left on the tour, so highly recommend checking it out if you can. Details on Edan’s website.
